This cat looks alot like a normal house cat but is twice the size. Its coat is covered in different spots almost like a leopard. These animals use their sight and hearing to hunt rabbits, rodents, iguanas, fish, and frogs. Unlike many other cats they dont avoid water because they can swim really well. They have pointed fangs that they use to bite their prey, their teeth are not really made for chewing so they tear their prey apart and then swallow it whole. They usually live in places like South American but they can come as far North as Texas. The cats are good at adapting and some have even adapted into living in human settlements. Ocelots have now become protected because the hunters have made them endanered by hunting for their fur. The females have about two or three kittens at a time, in northern locations females den in the autumn, while in other places the breeding seasons may not be fixed. |
