Siberian Tigers

Tigers are the largest cats in the cat family. The siberian tiger lives primarly in Russia, although some are also found in China and North Korea. There are an estamate of only 400 - 500 Siberian tigers left in the wild.

They are powerful hunters that may travel several miles to find prey. Each tiger has its own set of stripes, no two tigers have the same. They use the stripes as camouflage in the wild.

A hungry tiger can eat as much as 60 pounds in one night, although it is usually less.

Despite the bad reputation they usually avoid humans. Only few have ever become dangerous to us, those are usually only the ones that have nothing else left to hunt.

Females give birth to 2 - 6 cubs at a time, and raise them usually without the help of the male. Cubs stay with their mothers for 2 years, and only start hunting at the age of 18 months.
